Biology



    Mission

    Our mission is to train the next generation of biologists, with professional standards of excellence at a highly competitive level, who are capable of applying their knowledge and skills to face and solve current and future scientific challenges. This program encourages students to perform scientific research in its different areas. It seeks to generate knowledge that can be extended to the community and applied in scientific, academic, and social fields, to improve the quality of life in local, regional, national, and international environments. Finally, it promotes cultural values, morality, social responsibility, and respect for the environment at every step.

    Vision

    The Biology program, is recognized for its competitiveness and comprehensive training of its undergraduates, and by the quality of its curricula which responds to the demands of stakeholders. In regards to teaching, academic staff is trained to the highest level with graduate degrees, are members of the National System of Researchers and are recognized by PRODEP. Professors take advantage of links with their peers and collaboration agreements with the science sector to constantly train and update their skills, increasing the quality of their teaching and contributing to scientific and intellectual production. Biology students are defined by their competitiveness, professional ethics and commitment to respond to the changing realities of their environment.

    Goals

    1. To train high-level professionals in Biology, capable of satisfying the needs of the labor market at the local, national, and international levels, with an entrepreneurial attitude with responsibility and ethical commitment.
    2. To encourage students to get involved in research projects and technological developments, and to promote student mobility that contributes to scientific and innovative progress in the areas of ​​natural and exact sciences.
